Hey, welcome.
We’re USihs LLC, a tiny outfit that basically exists because a few of us couldn’t stop talking about the parts of America everyone else skips.
It began with late-night messages between friends spread across different states. One would send a photo of an empty gravel road in Montana at dusk, another would reply with coordinates for a forgotten hot spring in Wyoming nobody’s posted about. Pretty soon we realized we had this growing pile of notes, directions, bad sketches on napkins, and opinions about which pie stop was worth the detour. Instead of keeping it in group chats we decided to put it somewhere public, but still keep that same casual, no-BS tone. That’s how USihs came together, no big launch, no funding rounds, just a shared drive folder that turned into a site.
We’re after the America that doesn’t scream for attention.
The side roads where the only traffic is a pickup with a dog in the back, the towns that still have one gas station and a diner that closes at 2 pm on Sundays, the viewpoints you reach after 20 minutes of wondering if you’re lost. We like places that feel personal, not performative. Historic lodges run by the same family for three generations, wineries started because someone’s grandpa had extra grapes, trails in national monuments where you might not see another person all day. That quiet authenticity is what keeps pulling us back.
No algorithms deciding what’s “trending”, no paid placements, no pressure to make everything Instagrammable.
We write like we’re telling a friend over coffee, sometimes the sentences run on a bit, sometimes we forget to capitalize properly, but it’s honest. Every report and route comes from real time spent there, not from skimming Google or rehashing someone else’s list. If a spot didn’t feel worth going back to, it doesn’t make the cut. Simple as that.

A loose group of road addicts living in different corners right now, Colorado, Oregon, North Carolina, Texas, a couple other spots.
We still argue in messages about whether Coastal Maine fog is better than New Mexico high-desert light, or if the best barbecue sauce is vinegar-based or mustard-based. We don’t have an office or business cards, we just keep driving, keep finding things, keep sharing when something feels right. That’s the whole team.
If you’re the kind of person who’d rather take the long way because the map looks interesting, or who slows down when you see a hand-painted sign for fresh peaches, then stick around.
We’re not trying to sell you anything or turn your trip into content. Just hoping to hand you a few keys to doors most people walk past.
Take what you like, leave the rest, and maybe send us a note if you find something even better.
We’re always listening.
Safe travels,
The USihs crew
